Graff said Henderson has been by far the most explosive Patriots offensive player in offseason practices, adding that the rookie’s “development as a runner between the tackles will go a long way toward determining his success.” Graff said Henderson, the 38th pick in the 2025 draft, “probably won’t have to do a ton of [between the tackles running], particularly if Stevenson gets the majority of the early-down carries. But for this draft pick to be worth it, Henderson needs to improve as a between-the-tackles rusher as he presumably takes on a bigger role in the years to come.” Even if Henderson doesn’t take on a three-down role in the New England offense, he should have every chance to usurp Stevenson — one of the league’s least efficient rushers — as the team’s primary back in 2025.

Stop us if you’ve heard this story before, but an unheralded and undersized slot wideout is turning heads in New England’s camp. Chism has head coach praise quotes (Mike Vrabel praised the 23-year-old as “a talented player” who is dedicated and “studied extremely hard”) and looked good in the team’s early offseason OTAs and camps. New England’s wideout room has enough depth that we’re hesitant to say Chism is even a lock to make the roster, but he’s someone to monitor as we look forward to training camps in August.

Polk has been limited through spring practices. Reiss counts Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins, Pop Douglas and Kyle Williams as locks to make the roster and said Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne and Efton Chism III comprise the next tier. Reiss thinks Polk would “be deep on the depth chart initially” if he were to make the roster. Polk can still turn things around, but it has been a rough 18 months for him in New England so far and Mike Vrabel didn’t draft him.

Hasty just completed his second season with the Patriots after spending time with the Jaguars and 49ers earlier in his four-year career. The 28-year-old has primarily been a depth option in the backfield and special teamer. It is notable the Texans brought in another running back, having signed Nick Chubb with Joe Mixon recovering from an ankle injury. Hasty would need to battle his way through to make any roster, but the Texans working him out indicates Mixon may be further from returning than initially thought.

He had signed a one-year deal with the Patriots this offseason. The veteran guard played for the Falcons, Commanders, and Jets over his eight years in the league after being selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He started 29 games for the Falcons in his first two seasons, but was mostly a versatile fill-in player afterwards. PFF graded his 2020 season with the Commanders, where he started 13 games, as his best year as a starter. The Patriots will likely turn to Cole Strange at guard this season.

The deal is worth a fully guaranteed $43.66 million. It also includes a signing bonus worth $28.39 million. The Patriots selected Campbell (6'6"/319) with the fourth overall pick in April’s NFL Draft in hopes of bolstering an offensive line which allowed 52 sacks last season. There has been plenty of speculation that Campbell could kick inside and become a perennial Pro Bowl-caliber guard, but regardless of position, he is a premium talent and should be an NFL fixture for the next several years.

This is, per Schefter, “fortunate” news as the injury initially looked much worse after Tavai suffered it in OTAs on Monday. He couldn’t put any pressure on his leg. Tavai’s snaps on the interior were already looking at a dip after New England signed Robert Spillane and matched an RFA offer for Christian Elliss this offseason, but he could still profile as an early-down thumper for the Patriots this year.

Rumors of a potential release swirled last week after former Patriots quarterback and current announcer Scott Zolak told reporters that a release of Diggs was on the table for the Patriots, reports that now appear to be unfounded. Diggs’ new three-year, $69 million contract now seems to carry more certainty after the veteran showed up to OTAs Monday. Diggs will look to get back to his 1,000-yard ways in New England after appearing in only eight games in 2024 while with the Texans.

After a week of social media buzz that featured a boat and a pink substance, Diggs is now in the building. It’s worth noting that these are voluntary OTAs, so Diggs’ decision to report could be in part to gain some good favor with a team that was rumored to be open to cutting the 31-year-old veteran. Head coach Mike Vrabel, when questioned about the video featuring Diggs last week, seemed to downplay the video while adding that he hopes Diggs is making good decisions both on and off the field. Where things truly stand with Diggs and the Patriots at this point is anybody’s guess, but it’s a good sign to see him at OTAs after a week that featured headlines neither side probably wanted. Diggs is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 8 last season and is unlikely to be on the playing field before training camp. A stint on the PUP list could also be in order.
